Kenyan forward Jonah Ayunga has set the proverbial target of achieving double figures in goals in his Scottish Premier League debut season with St. Mirren.The 25-year-old joined the Scottish outfit back in July from the English League One side Morecambe where he played under the current St. Mirren head coach Stephen Robinson.Kenyan forward ruled out of Zesco’s league openerAyunga already has five goals in the league and cup competitions this season and revealed that he is looking to score double digits to repay the faith bestowed upon him by the coach.“I’ve not really set new targets. The Brighton and Hove Albion academy graduate is enjoying life in Scotland and claimed an assist in the 1-0 win over Ross County over the weekend after his shot cannoned off the crossbar and fell for Richard Tait to score.Ayunga noted that he will count the assist as he was delighted to see the club pick up their first victory of the season after suffering two consecutive losses.Nightmare outings for Kenyan stars abroad“I’m claiming the assist. It was a very good finish. He actually does that in training regularly, but it’s good that he did it in a game. I watched it go all the way into the corner. I think we deserved the win. It’s early in the season, but it’s a very important win to get points on the board and to be able to look at the league table rather than avoiding it,” added Ayunga.
