Posta Rangers have appointed immediate former Mathare United head coach John Kamau ahead of the start of the 2022-2023 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season.Rangers had been without a substantive head coach from February following the sudden exit of Stanley Okumbi who by then was said to have left the club to pursue further studies.Okumbi’s departure saw the club elevate Collins Omondi who served as his assistant to the rank of stand-in coach, a role he held for the remainder of the term and from the time the club kicked off the pre-season activities.OfficialPosta Rangers have appointed Mathare United boss, John Kamau as their new head coach, he replaces interim coach Collins ‘Korea’ Omondi. This is Kamau’s third stint with Posta. We are also hoping to strengthen the team before the season gets underway,” he confirmed. The development means that Kamau will be handling the club for the third time having coached the outfit in 2015 and in the 2018-2019 seasons. The former national U20 team head coach had been a free agent since leaving Mathare who were demoted to the second tier after dishing three walkovers last season.##NAJAVA_MECA_6580574##Kamau first joined Rangers in 2015 after cutting ties with Thika United but was apparently redeployed hardly six months after joining the club. His role were taken by George Maina who currently serves as Tusker assistant coach. He returned to the club in January 2019 to replace Samuel Omollo who was shown the door over a series of unwanted results. He would help the club evade relegation albeit the hard way as Rangers were forced to beat the defunct Nairobi Stima who by then were in the Super League in the promotion/relegation playoff.Prior to his return to Rangers, the former Wazito assistant coach was heavily linked to second tier outfit Murang’a Seal.
