‘It’s a matter of days,’ Nick Mwendwa hints at return to football management

Former Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa has hinted that “it’s a matter of days,” before he returns to football management.”We have come so far. It’s closer now,” tweeted Mwendwa, who was removed from office when Cabinet Secretary for Sports Ambassador Amina Mohamed disbanded the FKF Executive over alleged corruption.Mwendwa tweeted in response to the Sports Dispute Tribunal (SDT) ruling that faulted the Caretaker Committee for bypassing FKF judicial bodies. According to a close source, Mwendwa, who is perceived to be close to William Ruto, is just waiting for the Supreme Court of Kenya to affirm the President-elect’s win before he (Mwendwa) returns to football management.Ruto’s win, which was announced last week Monday, is being contested by his main challenger, Raila Odinga at the Supreme Court.Mwendwa is currently a free man after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) withdrew the graft charges against him in July, but is yet to reinstate them as they had indicated. In a separate interview with Mozzart Sport, Mwendwa stated that should they return to Kandanda House, they will, without any doubt, scrap the disputed 2021/22 season.
