Kenyatta mulls at building a new team as striking players turn down call to resume training

Frustrated FC Talanta head coach Ken Kenyatta says he is contemplating of building an entirely new team for the forthcoming Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season.The tactician disclosed he was keen on constituting a new team as his striking players had not resumed training hardly two weeks to the start of the new campaign.Talanta are in financial conundrum triggered by the departure of the multiple shirt sponsors who bankrolled the outfit in the past campaign, their first in the top flight.##NAJAVA_MECA_6588320##The deall between the club and the Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK( expired in June but Mozzart Sport understands that negotiations to renew it for the third time are at an advanced stage.Kenyatta said he is looking at building a new team as an option unless the players who are contracted to the club soften their stances and resume training.Talanta has already lost four players; Francis Kahiro, Thomas Wainaina, Michael Bodo and Vincent Otieno who have joined KCB, Bidco United and Fortune Sacco respectively.“The new season is just around the corner but unfortunately, we are not ready for at all. The players I had last season haven’t resumed training. We have been pleading with them to return as the management works on solving the financial challenge but we haven’t succeeded. I may have to build a new team for we can’t not risk to lose our top-flight status,” he said.Kakamega Homeboyz lure defensive stalwart John Otieno back for a second spellKenyatta who conducted trials last week at the Public Service Club in Upper Hill said he had managed to acquire a good number of experienced players whom he intends to build a team around them and navigate through the new season.The former goalkeeper who has an high affinity for seasoned players in the meantime expressed optimism that the club will be financially stable again.
