Former FKF Premier League outfit Zoo FC are preparing for a life in the FKF Division One come next season.The club’s president and owner Ken Ochieng’ assured fans of the Kericho-based team that they are not going to disband the team but are instead focusing on life in the third tier.##NAJAVA_MECA_6588306##Zoo were for the second time demoted to the lowest tier league by FIFA, the world’s football body after a case involving match manipulation. The club had come out admitting that some of their former players were fixing games but FIFA rained hard on the team relegating the club two tiers down. In the first instance in May 2021, Zoo were ordered to play in the FKF Division One after being found culpable in match fixing, but did not strictly obey the directive, instead choosing to play in the second tier, National Super League.In a follow-up order, accompanied by a Ksh 6 million fine, in June 2022, FIFA insisted that Zoo must go back to Division One. “What I’m certain about is that Zoo will feature in the FKF Division One next season,” Ken told Mozzart Sport.Relegated Zoo FC given 30 days to pay 6 million fine by FIFAHe is however pursuing the legal route as regards the fine. “I’m still talking to my lawyers on the next cause of action.”Prior to the second relegation, Zoo had pulled out of the 2021/22 season protesting the mandate of the FKF Transition Committee to run it.”We were relegated by FIFA, so will only participate in a league sanctioned by FIFA,” Ken added.
