Carvalho gives Reds an undeserved victory in injury time

Games come and go, but Liverpool are still in crisis. With 5 games played and only one win, the Reds need something, anything, to get them going. Yes, they have injuries, but so did Newcastle, who came to Anfield looking for the first win since 1994 without a bunch of important players but still, Salah & co managed a first shot on target in the 60th minute! In the end, it was the magic of Bobby Firmino and the lucky strike from youngster Fabio Carvalho in deep overtime which earned an undeserved win: Liverpool – Newcastle 2-1.90+ – The day after his 20th birthday, Fábio Carvalho has become the youngest player to score a 90th-minute winning goal in the Premier League for @LFC. It’s Liverpool latest Premier League goal since April 2011 (102nd minute, Dirk Kuyt vs Arsenal). But, the guests came to fight, and not give up, and they had their new record signing Alexander Isak ready to start, after he got the working permit just hours before the game. The Magpies came out flying and caught the shaky Reds off guard in the first half. Diaz and Salah very totally cut off and the guests even managed to score the first goal, after Sean Longstaff made a perfect pass in space for Isak, who had enough time and poise to finish: 1-0 Newcastle. The fact that Liverpool had it’s first shot on target in the 60th minute says it all. And just after the first, came the second one, and it was a success, thanks to Roberto Firmino. From that moment on, the Magpies showed they are still the team in making, and they started to defend themselves, allowing much more experienced Liverpool to take the game into their own hands. With a loud backing from the home crowd, the Reds occupied Newcastle’s half, and the guests failed to register a single shot on target in the second half. Still, Liverpool were not so efficient in attack either, but had a lucky opportunity to score the winner in the 89th minute.PREMIER LEAGUE – MATCHDAY 5TuesdayFulham – Brighton 2-1 (0-0)/Mitrovic 48, Dunk 55 og – Mac Allister 60 pen/Crystal Palace – Brentford 1-1 (1-0)/Zaha 59 – Wissa 88/Southampton – Chelsea 2-1 (1-1)/Lavia 28, Armstrong 45+1 – Sterling 23/Leeds – Everton 1-1 (0-1)/Sinisterra 55 – Gordon 17/WednesdayBournemouth – Wolverhampton 0-0Arsenal – Aston Villa 2-1 (1-0)/Jesus 30, Martinelli 74 – Luiz 77/Man City – Nottingham Forest 6-0 (3-0)/Haaland 12, 23, 38, Cancelo 50, Alvarez 87/West Ham – Tottenham 1-1 (0-1)/Soucek 55 – Kehrer 34 og/Liverpool – Newcastle 2-1 (0-1)/Firmino 61, Carvalho 98 – Isak 38/Thursday22.00: (3.80) Leicester (3.50) Man.Utd.
