Tusker FC tactician Robert Matano is not hurrying his new signings to fit into the team, but is instead letting them in gradually ahead of the new Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF PL) season.The Brewers have made six signings so far, three of those joining the defender champions while one of the six is a rookie yet to taste Premier League football.Tusker rope in Sharks trio, three othersEric Mmata, Boniface Onyango, and Tom Teka are the new faces at the Ruaraka-based side who have crossed over from Kariobangi Sharks, while David Odoyo joins the defending champions from Green Commandos. The other two are Brian Opondo, a custodian from Bidco United, and striker Eric Otieno from Wazito.Matano admits that while there is pressure for the defending champions going into the new campaign, there will integrate the new players gradually and will not rush them.”There is pressure, of course, as defending champions. We lost players and we are trying to close those holes left by the departing players. the new players are adapting well. they have to come in gradually because they came from different clubs, but they will get there soon,” Matano said.Boost for Tusker as frenetic forward returnsFurther, the four-time Kenyan league winner revealed that they have been deploying some of their players to unfamiliar territories having been hit with injuries, more so in their striking department.”We have been pushing them to different positions where they are not used. The team is intact but the fitness level is still down. We cannot blame them at the moment, there will be some mistakes because of lack of match fitness but that will come when we play many matches. It is good when mistakes happen at this time because we can correct them,” he added.
