When a team is playing away in the European competition, it usually arrives a couple days earlier and takes the last training on the home team’s ground one day before the game. But not Marseille. Their coach Igor Tudor refused the idea, suggesting that Spurs coach Antonio Conte and director Fabio Paratici would be there to film it with cameras. Whoever knows Tudor and Conte’s history knows it’s a joke, since both men know each other for years.Antonio Conte on former Juve team-mate Igor Tudor, now manager of Marseille: “Igor is a friend and we played together for many years. Really happy to see him on the bench in an important club in Europe. I wish him all best for him and Marseille apart from two games against us.” pic.twitter.com/sCGbUnU7qJ— Tottenham From The Lane (@Tottenham_ftl) September 6, 2022 „We take this decision because we think it’s a better option. We could prepare better this morning as here we don’t have much time to prepare the game. Because if we prepare the training here Antonio will see all the training and director Paratici from Juventus, they will be there with the camera! So better prepare this morning in Marseille” said Tudor. After 8 new players, Chelsea need a new coach: Tuchel is sacked! On a more serious note, Tudor has very fond memories of his colleague Conte. First they were teammates as players in Juventus, and then they met again at Siena, when the Italian was assistant coach to Tudor, who was still playing active football. When the Croat went on to became a coach himself, Conte permit him to visit Juventus for a week and observe his trainings with the team.”Antonio I know him as a human being, as a person. When I came to Juventus I was only 20 and I found a dressing room with players like him Ciro Ferrara, Paolo Montero, Alessandro Del Piero. Players who have value, not only as player but a person. He was one of guys who was always exemplary, not by speaking but by his behaviour. In the end the best way to look is behaving the right way. Now he’s one of the best in the world. Tomorrow coaches are there, but I think always decided by players. They are the protagonists and in the end they are the ones who will decide the game” he said.⚡️𝗝𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗗’𝗘𝗨𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗘 ⚡️1ère journée de @ChampionsLeague, nos Olympiens affrontent les @SpursOfficial à 2️⃣1️⃣H au 𝗧𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗺 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝘀𝗽𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘂𝗺. #TOTOM #UCL pic.twitter.com/Z0TA6M3gXg— Olympique de Marseille (@OM_Officiel) September 7, 2022 And while Marseille travelled to London with a good record in Ligue 1 (5 wins, one draw, just like PSG), the home team is the absolute favorite for this match. But, Antonio Conte was worried about one thing – the Premier League. After this match, his men will travel to Manchester City on Saturday, and then to Lisbon to face Sporting on Tuesday. A heavy schedule for the Italian who doesn’t like it at all.„Honestly, to see this schedule about Tottenham is incredible, it’s crazy because we played three games in a week against Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Fulham. Now we are playing after four days, but we are starting to play again three important games. I think maybe this is the first time in my career to see a schedule like this. Honestly, I try to check the schedule of the other teams and I have seen that in this situation Tottenham are penalised a lot. In this situation we are unlucky, but in the future, and also I spoke with the club, we have to pay great attention to speak to the Premier League because we have to pay attention when there is this type of schedule“ said the Italian.UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE – MATCHDAY 1Wednesday 19.45: (1.50) Ajax (4.60) Rangers (7.00)19.45: (2.25) Eintr.Frankfurt (3.50) Sporting (3.35)22.00: (3.80) Napoli (3.60) Liverpool (2.05)22.00: (1.85) Atl.Madrid (3.50) Porto (5.00)22.00: (3.40) Club Brugge (3.60) Leverkusen (2.20)22.00: (1.07) Barcelona (15.0) Plzen (35.0)22.00: (4.10) Inter (3.80) Bayern (1.92)22.00: (1.53) Tottenham (4.30) Olympique Marseille (7.00)***odds are subject to changeTuesday Dinamo Zagreb – Chelsea 1-0 (1-0)/Orsic 13/Dortmund – Copenhagen 3-0 (2-0)/Reus 35, Guerreiro 42, Bellingham 83/Salzburg – Milan 1-1 (1-0)/Saelemaekers 40 – Okafor 28/Celtic – Real Madrid 0-3 (0-0)/Junior 56, Modric 60, Hazard 77/RB Leipzig – Shakhtar 1-4 (0-1)/Simakan 57 – Shved 16, 58, Mydruk 76, Traore 85/Sevilla – Man City 0-4 (0-1)/Haaland 20, 67, Foden 58, Dias 90+2/Benfica – Maccabi Haifa 2-0 (0-0)/Silva 49, Grimaldo 54/PSG – Juventus 2-1 (2-0)/Mbappe 5,22 – McKennie 53/
