Brozovic kickstarts Inter with a dramatic winner, Torino will have a few sleepless nights

Torino missed a rare chance to record a win over Inter on Saturday night as Marcelo Brozovic scored a late winner to banish the black and blue frustration. The Bulls from Turin wasted way too many chances and were punished in the 89th minute by Inter, who leapfrogged their rivals Milan and moved into third place in Serie A – at least for a couple of hours. The first half offered hardly anything as Inter struggled to get any sort of shot away, leaving goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic Savic completely untested. The visitors sensed that Nerazzurri weren’t on their best game, and they slowly grew in confidence. Croatian attacker Nikola Vlasic, younger brother of the legendary high jumper Blanka, had the best chance, but Inter captain Samir Handanovic, back in goal in place of Andre Onana, produced a great stop. Young Senegalese Demba Seck created problems for Inter’s defenders, but Handanovic was alert to cut off one of his attempted low crosses.Torino looked like the side most likely to score for most of the second half, despite the first chance falling for Granata. But Handanovic kept his team’s hopes of winning by keeping out a couple more attempts from Vlasic, a wicked free kick from Ricardo Rodriguez and a goal-bound header from Antonio Sanabria. But as the final 20 minutes arrived, Simone Inzaghi’s men managed to build up some steam and came close several times Through Lautaro Martinez and Nicolo Barella. But it was the enigmatic Croat Bozovic who poked in the deserved goal minute from time as cheers replaced jeers in the stands of Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.SERIE A – ROUND 6SaturdayNapoli – Spezia 1-0 (0-0)/Raspadori 89/Inter – Torino 1-0 (0-0)/Brozovic 89/21:45: (6.75) Sampdoria (4.30) Milan (1.58)Sunday13:30: (1.38) Atalanta (5.50) Cremonese (9.50)16:00: (3.10) Bologna (3.35) Fiorentina (2.50)16:00: (2.35) Lecce (3.35) Monza (3.40)16:00: (2.80) Sassuolo (3.40) Udinese (2.70)19:00: (1.66) Lazio (4.10) Verona (5.90)21:45: (1.46) Juventus (4.50) Salernitana (8.00)Monday21:45: (5.40) Empoli (3.70) Roma (1.79)***odds are subject to change***
