Ebwali Secondary School advanced to the semi finals of the the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) top of Group A after thumping Highway High School 3-1 to maintain their 100% record in the games being played at the Nakuru Boys High School.In a clash that would be the Group B decider after both teams won their openwork games in Day 1 meaning that both teams had already booked their slot in the semis of the National games as the teams looked to claim top spot that would hand them a favorable draw in the semis.KSSSA: Highway and Ebwali through to football semisEbwali had a bright start to the game as Highway took time to settle their early nerves, uncharacteristically misplacing their passes withe the Western Region representatives dominating the midfield battle.Ebwali took the lead midway through the first half as Calvin Otieno tapped home from close range after the Highway defense was split wide open by some clever piece of play.With wind in their sails, Ebwali wasted no time in doubling their lead through that man again Calvin Otieno who was a thorn in the flesh of the Highway defense as this time he sent the keeper the wrong way after coming one on one with the custodian, Paul Okumu.Highway shrugged off their lethargic start to the game as they ended the half with some momentum but they could not make their advantage count as Ebwali went into the break with a 2-0 lead.Highway returned the the closing half a different beast and were handed a penalty inside the opening 10 minutes for a foul inside the box which Andreas Odhiambo took but saw his effort saved by Brian Lumeafwa.Odhiambo was however handed reprieve as the lineman ruled that he crossed the line before the penalty was taken as a retake was ordered which Odhiambo this time made no mistake sending the ball into the bottom left corner.Ebwali put the game to bed in the dying minutes of the game when Gift Derrick fired in a volley from out of the box that caught Paul Okumu off guard as he miss timed the ball and watched it ripple the back of the net.Ebwali held on for the 3-1 win to advance to the semis as Group A winners.Highway School midfielder eager to join TalantaElsewhere, Bute and Mbooni put behind their torrid starts to the National Games by claiming their first point following a thrilling 4-4 draw after both schools suffered heavy defeats in Day 1.The two schools however bid farewell to the tournament with their poor results in Day 1 costing them.Girls results Dagoretti 7-0 KabaoniItigo 3-0 Kinale Girls
