Tusker’s burly striker Ibrahim Joshua has his eyes set on clinching the Golden Boot in his second season with the Robert Matano coached side when the 2022/2023 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League campaign gets underway. The heavily built Tanzanian import enjoyed a successful first year at the Brewers that saw him clinch two cup titles – the 21/22 FKF Premier League and the FKF Super Cup – on top of being crowned the club top scorer with 11 goals in what was his debut season in the country.Ibrahim Joshua and Kalos Kirenge hoist league titleHaving signed for two years from Tanzanian outfit Ken Gold, Joshua has turned his focus on stepping from club top scorer to being the best finisher in the overall league.“My first season was a success when you look at the two titles I managed to get with my team. Getting eleven goals as well was not bad for my first season. My focus now is on increasing those number of goals with an eye on the Golden Boot. A striker is recognized with the number of goals he scores and that would be my target,” the player told Mozzart Sport.📸| Here’s more from today’s training session.#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/qajQrZuou7— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) September 9, 2022 The former Keita Gold player had been sidelined with injury as the team continued with their pre-season preparations but has since resumed full training in preseason. His absence, for a moment, was a concern for Tusker’s Matano who was forced to field makeshift options upfront when his side played fellow FKFPL side Ulinzi Stars in a preseason friendly match.See who’s back? 💪After a minor injury setback Ibra is back to light training. pic.twitter.com/3TgEbGi1wA— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) August 30, 2022 His first season exploits for Tusker saw Joshua handed his first call up to the Tanzanian national football side, Taifa Stars, and went on to make his debut in a friendly match against the Central African Republic in March.
