Wazito FC have completed the signing of six new players to beef up the squad ahead of the 2022/23 FKF Premier League campaign that will tentatively start on 24th September.The team, which has since relocated to Kisumu under new ownership, has been training in Kisumu for the last few weeks. Swedish tycoon Ricardo Badoer has sold the team that narrowly avoided relegation last season after beating Murang’a Seal in the playoff. The team is now in the hands of Kisumu-based engineer, Joel Odongo.A mass walkout was witnessed at the club after the end of the 2021/22 season and the rebuilding process commenced under coach Jeffers Odongo who is now in charge of the club.“I can preparations have been good so far. Mwana trained with Tusker last week but failed to earn a deal at the club. He is joined by his ex-Homeboyz teammate Francis ‘Dimore’ Omondi who is a free agent after being released by last season’s league runners-up.Left-back Yusuf Mohammed has returned to the club. Former AFC Leopards duo of keeper Ezekiel Owade and forward Hansel Ochieng have joined the club from Bidco United and Sofapaka FC respectively. Completing the list is veteran forward Kennedy ‘Agogo’ Otieno.The team will take on Muhoroni Youth FC in a friendly match on Saturday afternoon. The match kicks off at 3PM.“We have a friendly match against Muhoroni Youth on Saturday afternoon in Muhoroni and we are going to use it to gauge our preparedness for the new season.
