Muluya keen on keeping Sharks squad intact for more than a season

Kariobangi Sharks have been losing scores of players at the end of the season in the recent past. The club that is known for its affinity for young players has been acquiring raw talents, nurturing them only to watch them leave for their direct rivals. However, coach William Muluya is determined to hold on to the rookies he has assembled this time for a longer spell. ##NAJAVA_MECA_6633046##The tactician who has had to bring in players and promote others from the youth team in a bid to fill in the gaps left by those who were enticed by greener pastures elsewhere said he had learnt his lesson the hard way. While giving an update on the preparedness of the team for the new season, Muluya, said his current crop of players are raring to go after weeks of preparations. “We don’t want to be victims of our success this time. We have been recruiting young players and grooming them well only to lose them after a year or so. We will try our best to retain them. I am not sure about winning the league title but I am certain that we will be having good matches and winning in a convincing way,” he said.Inspired Michael Olunga sets eye on replicating Golden Boot feat in QatarMeanwhile, Muluya called on the relevant authorities to inform the clubs on the exact date the new season will get underway. The Transition Committee that has been under pressure from all quarters to excuse themselves from managing the new season have set September 24 as the start date.” There is a lot of uncertainty regarding the start of the season. The authorities keep on postponing the start dates which throws our plans into a disarray. We need some order and the exact date on when we will get underway. We can’t keep on preparing for a competition that we are not sure on when it will start. We have done the same thing for a long time and I think it’s time the clubs are given the exact date,” he said.
