FKF Premier League side, Ulinzi Stars have confirmed the appointment of Bernard Mwalala as their new head coach ahead of the 2022/23 season.Mwalala crosses over to the military side after parting ways with Kakamega Homeboyz. He led the Kakamega based side to a second-place finish last season, missing out on the league title through an inferior goal-difference. Tusker managed to shake off a poor start to the season to defend their title.The soldiers on the other hand has a torrid campaign and they will be hoping that the former Kenyan international turns their fortunes around. He has also served as an assistant coach at Coastal Union of Tanzania. Mwalala will be aided by Vincent Otieno who served as an interim coach when Benjamin Nyangweso was ousted and has been in charge of pre-season and Khamisi Abdalla Mohammed.“We are delighted to welcome Bernard Mwalala as our New Head Coach. He will be assisted by Vincent Otieno and Khamisi Abdalla Mohammed,” the club announced through social media.Mwalala’s move to Ulinzi will see him reunite with some of the players that he worked with Nzoia Sugar. They include; Masita Masuta, Boniface Muchiri, and Mark Bikokwa.The team recruited three players in the just closed window. They are; Ruben Mita, Eli Saenyi and Jacob Onyango.
