Barely a month into his Serie A career, AC Milan are reportedly contemplating shipping out Belgian striker Divock Origi after he failed to impress for Stefano Pioli’s men according to Italian publication Calciomercato.Origi joined Milan in the summer from Liverpool and was largely expected to dislodge veteran Olivier Giroud as the Rossoneri’s first-choice striker. He has however failed to hit the ground running in Milan and the club is reportedly thinking of shipping him out in January.Injuries have not made things easier for the striker who is yet to start a game for the Italian giants. He has made three Serie A substitute appearances amounting to 47 minutes of football but is yet to find the back of the net. He featured for 33 minutes in the UEFA Champions League against Red Bull Salzburg.Calciomercato now reports that the seven-time European champions are running out of patience and lining up potential replacements for the attacker. Lille’s Jonathan David and Salzburg’s Noah Okafor who earlier this week scored against Chelsea have been touted as potential replacements for the Belgian who is a race against time to secure a World Cup slot.##NAJAVA_MECA_6651581##Italian journalist Alvise Cagnazzo has labeled the striker as the worst signing of the season in Serie A.“There is no doubt who the worst signing of the season has been in Serie A: Divock Origi. The Belgian left Liverpool hoping to finally nail down a starting spot at a top club, but his time at AC Milan has so far been a disaster,” said Cagnazzo“Rather than catching the eye, the striker’s first months in Italy have been plagued by bad luck and injuries, which limited his opportunities on Merseyside until his contract expired. At 27 years old, any player, especially a striker, should be at their peak. But Origi seems to already be on a downward curve in his career. In the Premier League, he contributed 22 goals and 10 assists in 107 games. In Italy, he risks those numbers being even worse and more similar to those of a midfielder rather than a centre forward.”Leeds United have already been linked with a January swoop for the striker who is the son of former Kenyan international Mike Okoth Origi.Unease at Gor Mahia camp over non-payment of salaries
