MCF coach Mahira satisfied with quality of new players, eyes automatic promotion

MCF head coach David Mahira is banking on the quality of players he has recruited in the past weeks to catapult the team to the top league at the end of the 2022-2023 season.The Yatta based club was in contention for automatic promotion last season but loss of form in the final stages of the second leg saw them finish outside the top three bracket.However, Mahira says the calibre of players he brought in have what it takes to navigate the murky second tier waters and emerge out as the best.##NAJAVA_MECA_6651293##Among the players the former Murang’a Seal tactician signed include the experienced Anthony Nyagor who joined the club from Kisumu All Stars.The former Gor Mahia forward netted more than fifteen goals for Otenga last season and will be joined by another All Stars old boy in Ian Mutanda at MCF.Mutanda, who left KCB at the start of the year after running out his contract was attached to Nairobi United that is under the tutelage of former Kenyan international Simon Mbugua.Mahira labels Okare’s departure as a big blow to MCF’s bid to gain promotionOther players who joined MCF include seasoned right back Ronny Katumanga who reunites with Mahira having worked under him two years ago at Murang’a Seal.The club raided Coastal Heroes and left with the trio of Abud Mohamed, Marcos Jairo and Alfred Maningi who scored more than five penalties for the club in the past campaign.MCF also, signed former Ushuru midfielder George Amayo and is set to acquire two more players from Gusii FC upon the completion of the negotiations.Ulinzi Stars parade new guns ahead of new campaign”I am satisfied with the quality of players we have signed.
