Pamzo okay with league postponement

Kenya Police FC head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omolo says he is okay with the postponement of the league kick-off opining that it will give him more time to prepare his team and also give his injured players time to recover. There is confusion surrounding the commencement of the 2021/22 season. Initially, the league was set to kick off on 10th September before it was pushed forward by a further two weeks by the FKF Transition Committee. On Tuesday, returning FKF President Nick Mwendwa announced that the leagues would start in a month’s time pushing the kick-off date to at the earliest mid-October.Some teams like Kakamega Homeboyz, AFC Leopards, and Ulinzi Stars have lamented the postponement of the kick-off date but the Kenya Police boss is okay with the decision. Pamzo says he has three players sidelined and that the postponement will hand them enough time to recover and be ready for the new campaign.“I do not think it is a bad thing because it gives us more time to prepare. It is also an advantage because it gives players who are out injured time to recover and be ready for the new season. I have three players sidelined and if the league started on 24th September, they would miss the opening game. For us it is more time for gelling as a team and I am happy”, he said.Pre season friendly Changes..BIDCO F.C wameamua kujitolea.Tukutane Saturday Nyayo 3.00pm on a bigger flying pan.Mashemeji wameomba serikali wapumue kidogo.@748AirServices @betikaKe@Officialfkfpl#policingthroughsports pic.twitter.com/vZ2eBtovqa— KENYA POLICE FC (@kenyapolicefc) September 16, 2022 On his team’s preparedness so far, the former Kenyan international says they have improved massively defensively but wants his team to do better in attack as they have not been scoring too many goals.“We have improved defensively, we got a clean sheet against Leopards and Sharks as well and I think our defensive side of the game is good.
