19-year old goalkeeper Sylvain Ricks is among the five players four-time Kenyan champions Ulinzi Stars have unveiled ahead of the new Football Kenya Federation Premier League season.The soldiers captured the budding custodian from the Nakuru based and Division One side GDC that is famed for producing talented players who have made themselves a name in the top flight.##NAJAVA_MECA_6651293##GDC, also lost their centre back in John Otieno who returned to last season’s runner up Kakamega Homeboyz after a year of service.Ricks, is expected to offer competition to Kenyan international James Saruni who won the Golden Glove in the 2020-2021 season courtesy of the twelve cleansheets he kept. He will also face competition for game time from the long-serving Jacktone Odhiambo and Stephen Ochieng’ who joined Ulinzi two seasons ago from Mathare United. Ulinzi, who punched way below their weight last season added five players in the concluded player transfer window in a bid to add vigour and fresh blood in the team.Apart from Ricks, Ulinzi presented last season’s top scorer in the National Super League in Elly Saenyi who found the back of the net 26 times in the second tier. Wazito unveil nine more players ahead of league kick offAdding to the list is former Bidco United combative midfielder Jacob Onyango who was surprisingly the best scorer for the Thika based club in the past campaign. Ulinzi also formally unveiled former Tusker winger Boniface Muchiri who was integrated in the squad after completing his military training. Muchiri, who won the league with Tusker last year will don the number ten shirt that was worn by Masita Masuta last season.Ali Swaleh will also be in contention for playing time under the newly-appointed head coach Bernard Mwalala after returning from military duties.
