Galtier’s PSG makes no mistakes: Messi scores to keep the Parisians undefeated

Eight round of Ligue 1 has just finished, and we are yet to see PSG losing. In fact, we are yet to see the Parisians playing bad. Under the new coach Christophe Galtier, Mbappe and co. are playing with confidence, creating a lot of chances, and whatever the score is on the scoreboard, you better believe they could have scored 2 goals more. And tonight, it wasn’t any different, as PSG scored three more points and they did it with ease in a city where they had to work really hard for points in recent years: Lyon – PSG.5 – Lionel Messi and Neymar have given each other five assists in Ligue 1 this season, more than any other duo. In the first 8 games, the Parisians allowed only 4 goals and they kept a clean sheet tonight against Lyon, who scored at least one goal in their 16 consecutive league matches. With tonight’s win, PSG have also won nine of their last 10 Ligue 1 matches, and they have kept a clean sheet in six of their last eight away matches. Powerful indeed. In every PSG game so far, somebody has a great game, either Mbappe or Neymar or Messi and tonight it was the Argentinian’s turn to be the best. Leo Messi scored the winning goal, but also missed a couple of great chances which would ‘kill the game off, but no matter the score, the visitors never looked like losing this one. Quietly but surely, Messi is getting back to his old form and he has managed five goals and eight assists across his last 10 appearances for PSG in all competitions. Lyon on the other hand is in trouble, as the home team is on the bad streak which has now stretched to three straight defeats (Lorient, Monaco PSG), and coach Peter Bosz is already under fire.Just as the game started, Messi scored the goal. It was a great interaction between Messi and Neymar on the edge of the box before the Brazilian put the ball in the tight space and the Argentinian finished with ease. The former Barcelona man had two more chances in the next few minutes, with assists from Neymar and Mbappe, but the score remained the same. Lyon could hardly play in the first 45 minutes due to PSG’s dominance, but they still had their chances, and former Arsenal man Alexander Lacazette missed the biggest of them all in the 21st minute.Messi’s dominance over Lyon continued in the second half, as he mixed up the whole defence but it was Lukeba who managed to get in time and clear the ball off the line. PSG slowed down after 60 minutes, but by no means did they allow Lyon to get hold of the ball or create a chance. In fact, the hosts didn’t have a shot on target in the second half. Messi was there again but this time, keeper Lopes made a fingertip save in the 77th minute and kept home within the stadium so that Lyon could muster a surprise equalizer, but it was just not to be.LIGUE 1 – ROUND 8FridayAuxerre – Lorient 1-3 (0-3)/Hein 50 – Outtara 15, Moffi 36, Le Fee 42/SaturdayMontpellier – Strasbourg 2-1 (1-0)/Nordin 17, Savanier 90+4 pen – Diallo 85/Lolle – Toulouse 2-1 (1-0)/David 5, Ounas 53 – Chaibi 48/SundayReims – Monaco 0-3 (0-0)/Golovin 47, Minamino 87, Yedder 90/Brest – Ajaccio 0-1 (0-0)/Hamouma 65/Clermont – Troyes 1-3 (1-1)/Gasten 3 – Balde 23, 54, Ripart 83/Olympique Marseille – Rennes 1-1 (-1)/Guendouzi 55 – Guendouzi 25 (og)Nice – Angers 0-1 (0-1)/Bentaleb 42/Nantes- Lens 0-0Olympique Lyon – PSG 0-1 (0-1)/Messi 5/
