Trouble in paradise as players walk out of Wazito

A number of senior Wazito FC players have reportedly left the club over financial challenges with the transfer window already closed. The team, which has since changed ownership moved to Kisumu and a number of players who were still with the club moved with the team to Moi Stadium. Some of the players who stuck with the team after the change of ownership include Dennis Nandwa, Dennis Sikhayi, Eli Asieche, Boniface Omondi, Rooney Onyango, and Hillary Juma. These senior players have now opted out of the team after the club failed to honour their word to pay their dues.“We have not been paid for seven months. When the team was bought they promised that they were going to settle all our dues but since we set foot in Kisumu they have not given us a shilling. They have been promising to pay but they have been taking us in circles unnecessarily. Most of the old players have left and some new signings have also decided to leave until they pay us,” one of the players told Mozzart Sport.##NAJAVA_MECA_6651928##Wazito FC ownership Another issue that has left the players with unanswered questions is the ownership of the club. The team was reportedly bought by a Kisumu-based engineer, Joel Odongo but according to the source, Muhoroni Youth boss Moses Adagala has been running the show. Pictures of the Wazito with a Muhoroni Youth logo inscribed emerged online fueling speculation that the team could have been acquired by the seasoned football administrator.Looks like Wazito was acquired through a proxy. Why though? So many gaps in the acquisition. He told us that there is a gaming company coming to sponsor the team but it looks like it’s a ply to ensure we do not leave the club. We have told him that we will stay away until the money issue is resolved,”.Evergreen Tusker captain Mieno team ready for new season
