Mully Children’s Family FC were 15 minutes away from grabbing a memorable victory against Ulinzi Stars but ended up losing the encounter with head coach David Mahira looking to work on his attack and defense.The two teams faced off in the Elite Preseason Cup at the Kasarani Annex on Wednesday with Tonny Nyangor handing MCF the lead but late goals from Boniface Muchiri and a brace from Hillary Simiyu saw Ulinzi win the clash.Muchiri, Simiyu inspire Ulinzi’s comeback against MCFAhead of their clash against Nairobi City Stars on Saturday in the tournament, Mahira noted that he is looking to improve on his side’s defending and attack.“We are going to work on our defense, in the second half we gave out a lot of fouls which was about 15, we want to reduce that number and that will make us better defensively. ##NAJAVA_MECA_6660754##In the second half we also did not do well in terms of our attack, we only created two chances and I’d want to improve on that but my main focus will be defense,” said Mahira.MCF who ply their trade in the National Super League (NSL) managed to put up a good showing against the Soldiers as they were by far the better side in the first half.Despite the loss, Mahira was delighted to see his players rub shoulders against Premier League opposition in the tournament as he blamed the late capitulation on the numerous changes he made.Sharks confirm signing of Migori Youth prodigy“I’m happy to see my boys test themselves against Premier League sides in this tournament. In the first half we played very well and had a number of chances, we hit the post twice and scored a goal and that was my first team that played in the opening half.In the second half, I changed almost the entire team because I was trying out new players but the substations made us lose concentration and that is how they scored two goals in the final minutes, but I’m happy with my first team,” added Mahira.
