Muluya bemoans poor first half against Bidco

Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya has admitted that his side would have easily lost their Elite Pre-season Cup match against Bidco United in the first half on Friday afternoon.Sharks managed to get a win in a game that they were second best in it, particularly in the first half with the Thika-based side left to rue the opportunities missed after Fortune Omoto’s second-half header settled the tie.📷| Warmups Done ✅#ElitePreSeasonCup pic.twitter.com/gJWIDSUY3y— Kariobangi Sharks FC (@k_sharksfc) September 23, 2022 Henry Juma, Brian Nyakan, Peter Nzuki, David Kalama, and Zachary Gathu all had chances to score in the first half but somehow failed to beat John Otieno on Sharks goal on their way to their first defeat in the tournament.Muluya admits that his team was second best, particularly in the first stanza and admits that the match would have easily been wrapped in the first 45 minutes.”That was tough first half, they really caused us problems in the first half but we got the three points. They really pushed me to the wall in the first half, they were on top of their game in the first half and maybe they should have wrapped up the game in the first half, ” he said.He is however satisfied that they sealed the match through a set piece after failing to create too many chances.”We didn’t create many open chances but sometimes when you don’t get open chances you can kill off the game with a set-piece and we did that today”.The tactician points out that his team’s failure to score many goals is an issue of concern but attributes it to the mass recruitment that they recently made.”It is an issue but not a very big issue of concern because our team is a combination of players who haven’t played many matches together and you expect those teething problems to be there. We will get better with time,” he added.Kimani frustrated by league postponements
