Elite Preseason Cup: Pamzo laments over tournament schedule ahead of final

Kenya Police head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo has churned out his frustrations over the congested nature of the Elite Preseason Tournament fixture list in the wake of fresh injuries to his side.Kenya Police booked a place into the finals of the first edition of the Elite Preseason Tournament after a nervy 1-0 victory over fellow FKF Premier League side Bidco United at the Kasarani Annex grounds on Thursday afternoon.Though delighted with the victory, the former Gor Mahia assistant coach was seething with the growing number of his players on the doctor’s table owing to the high turnaround of games in the aforementioned preseason tournament.“The biggest problem I have right now is that my players are not resting enough. If we don’t get ample resting time then we’ll have to battle more injuries.”Pamzo voiced his frustrations after the Bidco victory.“It has been a really tight schedule for us. A single day of rest to the big final but the impact already detrimental as Pamzo explained after watching Marvin Nabwire hobble off with an ankle injury as Francis Kahata labored for an hour in the tight semifinal:“The injuries to my team are very concerning.
