Hillary Simiyu was on target for Ulinzi Stars as the Soldiers were held to a one-all draw by National Super League side Naivas FC in a friendly match held at the new Ulinzi Sports Complex, Lang’ata on Friday afternoon.Naivas took the lead in the first half through Kelwish Walubuka but Simiyu struck late in the same period to see the two sides head into the break level. The NSL side had a chance to take the lead midway through the second half from the spot but Stephen Odhiambo saved the penalty to keep the scores level and see the game end in a draw.Boniface Muchiri and Hillary Simiyu will score so many goals between themselves. Such good acquisitions for @UlinziStarsFC . However, my team still lacks that winning mentality… Once we get that one back, we are good to go. We need to find it soonest#GBUS— Murimi Njiru (@muriminjirujnr) September 26, 2022 The former Nzoia Sugar striker has been on fine form lately, his goal against Naivas coming on the back of three goals in as many matches he featured in during the Elite Preseason Cup tournament. He scored twice against NSL side MCF, and once against Kenya Police in the first two matches in the tournament, but he could not find the back of the net in the third match against Nairobi City Stars as they played to a two-all draw to bid the tournament.Oburu tipped to return to league action this weekend in ZambiaIn the match, coach Benard Mwalala gave priority to players he minimally used in the tournament, but introduced what seemingly was his starting 11 towards the end of the second period.
