BREAKING: Wanyama set to quit CF Montreal

Former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama has announced that he will be leaving Major Soccer League (MLS) side, CF Montreal at the end of the season after close to three years with the Canadian club.Wanyama joined Montreal at the start of 2020 from English Premier League (EPL) side Tottenham Hotspur and has been a key player for the club ever since. Last year he was elevated to the position of assistant captain and when fit and not suspended he has featured in nearly all the games.His contract expires in December and his future has been up in the air with clubs in Europe reportedly after his signature. The player however remained mum on the subject.On Tuesday he spoke for the first time about his future and confirmed that he will leave at the end of the campaign. He added that he had enjoyed his time at the club.”Honestly I think that this question has been long asked and the truth is at the end of the season I will leave. I had great years here, I enjoyed being part of the team, it’s been great,” he told reporters ahead of Sunday’s final regular season league match against Inter Miami.Victor Wanyama scored for CF Montréal this morning against Columbus.
