Former Harambee Stars head coach Francis Kimanzi has backed Sports CS nominee Ababu Namwamba to deliver once vetted and sworn in saying that CS has the experience needed to drive the ministry forward.Namwamba was last week named as the new sports CS by President William Ruto and is set to replace the outgoing Amina Mohammed. His nomination to the docket will however have to go through a parliamentary vetting before he assumes office.This is Namwamba’s second stint in the docket and stakeholders have expressed confidence in him and Kimanzi is among those who believe that he will do well particularly in football with the country currently under a FIFA suspension.“I have no doubt that Namwamba will perform as Sports CS. He is a youthful minister and very professional. Having served in the same position in 2012, he has the needed experience and I expect him to move with speed and end the football leadership differences we are in,” he told Citizen.Ababu Namwamba named the new Minister of Sports, a position he held in 2013. We are the ones who understand football issues and we should be in forefront to work with him closely.”Kenya was suspended in February by FIFA over government interference.
