Bidco boss admits difficulty in managing players as league kick stalls

Bidco United head coach Anthony Akhulia says it has become hard to manage the players to ensure that they remain fit and motivated with the 2022/23 season commencement date still unclear. The start of the new season was been postponed four times by the FKF Transition Committee with their communication that came out a week ago postponing the league indefinitely after clubs made it clear that they were not going to play in a league that has no blessings of FIFA.##NAJAVA_MECA_6706473##Although returning FKF president Nick Mwendwa has announced that the league will commence at the end of the month, he is yet to issue a specific date for kick-off and teams remain in the dark. Some have reduced the number of training sessions, some have given players a break while others have continued with training with the hope that the stalemate will be addressed soon.Akhulia like many coaches have been left in limbo and he says they are trying to manage the players to ensure that they are not fatigued having prepared for the new season since July.“Right now, we are trying to manage the players to ensure that fatigue doesn’t creep in because we have been in pre-season for almost three months now and we knew that by this point we would be playing in the league. It is challenging but we are trying to cope with the issue until things are clearer,” he said.#ElitePreseasonCup FT.Kenya Police 1 – 0 Bidco United Kenya Police will face Nairobi City Stars in the final.📷 Kariobangi Sharks football club. #RadullKE pic.twitter.com/VGITdbJIWc— Carol Radull (@CarolRadull) September 29, 2022 The tactician has further noted worrying patterns saying his team has been on and off. On Thursday they defeated FKF Division One side, Nairobi United 3-1 in a friendly. Henry Juma, Stephen Waruru, and Samuel Ndung’u scored the goals for his side but for Akhulia the performance was far from impressive.“There is inconsistency, for example after the Elite Cup we were in good form and probably that was the right time to start the league but we have dipped. We played against Nairobi United on Thursday and although we won, the performance was lackluster, it is now easy to keep these players motivated always when you do not know when the league will commence,” he added. The coach is hoping that the stalemate will be resolved soon so that teams can go back to playing competitive football.“I have given them (players) four days off, we will resume training on Tuesday. We must have a balance to ensure that we do not burn out before the league kick-off. It is not easy but we have to do it, planning for sessions is not easy either but what options do we have? We will keep waiting and hopefully, things will be clearer soon,” he concluded.Kisumu Day alumni talks up his niche at Talanta
