Kisumu Day alumni talks up his niche at Talanta

Former Kisumu Day skipper Elisha Owino believes he will not struggle to fit into FC Talanta’s playing style having switched from Kisumu All Stars. The midfielder, roped in alongside other 16 new faces, has featured in almost every match during the pre- season and is full of confidence that better tidings lay ahead.The recent KECOSO games, one won by Posta Rangers, was the last time he was in action with Talanta- playing all but one. He rues the single fixture he missed. ‘’We actually were level on points with Posta but they edged us on goal difference. Owino spent four years at Kisumu All Stars, a club he joined straight from high school. His recent change of environment has him itching for premier league kick-off. The last time he was up here was the 2019 FKF Premier League season.‘’I came to Talanta for greener pastures. There is a lot of competition in the team but I believe I has so far impressed the coach. My playing style fits his tactics well so I believe with more hard work, I’ll pull in a lot of minutes in the coming season,’’ says Owino.EUROPA LEAGUE: Arsenal win easily even with a reserve squadThe former Kenya U20 midfielder wants to be involved in as many goals as possible, and to finish top in the assists roster come close of the season. ‘’Once I get the minutes I plan on providing our forwards with goals. If the season ends when I am top on the assists charts, that will be a target achieved. This way, it will be easier to even seek offers abroad because that is the ultimate goal.’’ he says.FC Talanta play Gor Mahia this Saturday in yet another pre-season clash, a contest in which the midfielder plans on totally dominating given the chance.
