Valencia won at Osasuna 2-1 and raised to a rather unexpected high position of fifth in La Liga. It was an eventful match at El Sadar in which Los Che scored in just the right moments to keep the momentum and sail to a win.The visitors scored in each half to reach a deserved 2-0 lead thanks to well-worked goals from Justin Kluivert and Mouctar Diakhaby, but Osasuna missed a golden chance to get back in the game from the penalty spot. Substitute Chimy Avila, who’s only been on the pitch for a few minutes, fired his penalty over the crossbar. This was the night when Justin joined his father, Patrick Kluivert as goalscorers for Valencia – the first time father and son have scored for them.Veteran Edinson Cavani was given a similar chance on the other end, but his powerful spot-kick cannoned off the bar. This wasn’t a night for penalty takers. Osasuna’s captain Unai Garcia was sent off when he pulled down Atletico’s on-loan winger Samuel Lino. The Bats were already bossing the game against Jagoba Arraraste’s team and they wouldn’t let the two-goal slip despite the missed penalty.Lino had his chance to seal the points with 15 minutes remaining, but his low left-footed shot rolled agonizingly close to the far post.Serbian midfielder Darko Brasanac scored a nice goal in added time, but it was too late for the Bulls to recover and claim an unlikely point. The win took Valencia level on points with Osasuna, but above on goal difference. Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad are now level on points but will have a chance to overtake Gattuso’s team by the end of the weekend.LA LIGA – MATCHDAY 8FridayOsasuna – Valencia 0-2 (0-1)/Brasaanc 90+3 – Kluivert 27, Diakhaby 53/Saturday15.00: (3.20) Almeria (3.10) Rayo Vallecano (2.60)17.15: (1.53) Atl.Madrid (4.10) Girona (7.00)19.30: (2.85) Sevilla (3.15) Ath.Bilbao (2.55)22.00: (7.75) Getafe (4.30) Real Madrid (1.53)Sunday 15.00: (3.05) Valladolid (3.25) Betis (2.60)17.15: (3.05) Cadiz (3.05) Espanyol (2.75)19.30: (2.65) Sociedad (3.20) Villareal (3.00)22.00: (1.34) Barcelona (5.50) Celta (10.0)Monday22.00: (3.25) Elche (3.00) Mallorca (2.65)***odds are subject to change
