Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier has labeled a group of ‘fans’ who picketed against his personal beliefs on Thursday as ‘strangers’.Led by controversial former Organising Secretary of the club Judith Anyango aka Nyangi, the hardly any demonstrators called for Rachier’s head because he is a self-professed Freemason.”I am glad they were given a total blackout by the media. If you look at the photos circulating online, apart from Nyangi, those were not the Gor Mahia fans I know, they did not even have the Gor jerseys, they were just a bunch of busybodies, who should be ignored,” Rachier told Mozzart Sport.” I was in my office on Thursday, but I did not receive any petitions from the so-called demonstrators,” Rachier added.##NAJAVA_MECA_6724254##In a recent tell-it-all interview with NTV, Rachier came out publicly to declare that he is a Freemason. This did not sit well with a section of the club’s fans, some of whom think or believe that Freemasonry is synonymous with devil worshiping. The group arranged the demo, demanding that Rachier steps down, as they did not want their club to be associated with Freemasonry. The Kenyan constitution 2010 defends freedom of worship and association. It states in article 32 that, “Every person has the right to freedom of conscience, religion, thought, belief and opinion,”Gor Mahia boss Ambrose Rachier unbothered with death rumours” Every person has the right, either individually or in community with others, in public or in private, to manifest any religion or belief through worship, practice, teaching or observance, including observance of a day of worship,””A person may not be denied access to any institution, employment or facility, or the enjoyment of any right, because of the person’s belief or religion,”Ambrose Rachier reveals he has received “a lot of support” since coming out as a freemasonRachier has taken issue with the illegal use of the club’s letterhead by the organisers of the demo, saying it is not acceptable.” I dont know how they accessed the club’s official letterhead, but whatever the case it is totally unacceptable, and if possible we shall take action,” he added.
