On Monday FKF Premier League clubs’ CEOs met at a hotel in Nairobi and deliberated on several issues among them the date which the league will commence and 12th November was set as the tentative date for the 2022/23 season kick off.In attendance were 14 club chiefs. Only Bandari, Kakamega Homeboyz, Talanta and Nzoia FC did now show up for the meeting. The meeting and subsequent presser helped alleviate frustrations of stakeholders who have been hopelessly waiting for the new season to start.##NAJAVA_MECA_6736794##It however marked the start of despair and uncertainty for APS Bomet and Fortune Sacco FC. Firstly, the two clubs that were promoted by the exiting FKF Transition Committee were not invited for the meeting, Mathare United and Vihiga Bullets were relegated were in attendance, the duo was also represented in the earlier meeting where clubs agreed not to feature in the league run by the FKF Transition Committee.Nairobi City Stars CEO Patrick Korir maintained that they had not discussed the promotion and relegation issue during the Monday meeting but many observe that the fact the newly promoted duo was snubbed is telling and is already sending a message. The promotion/relegation issue will be one of burning matters that the FKF National Executive Committee (NEC) will have to handle once they return to office and the decision they make for the top tier will have ramifications across all leagues in the country. Either way, there will be winners and losers in the decision arrived at.There have been further questions over the legality of the 2021/22 season that was run by the TC. Sports Disputes Tribunal ruling that the relevant FKF standing committees were not engaged in running the league further pricked the legal grounds with which football was run under the government installed committee.BREAKINGThe Sports Disputes Tribunal has temporarily suspended the promotion of APS Bomet and Fortune Sacco to the FKF Premier League. The Transition Committee ordered not to include them in their fixtures.#KEFootball pic.twitter.com/ZhfUlTVnxi— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) September 2, 2022 Already Mathare and Bullets insist that the just concluded season was null and void and maintain that they are in the top tier to stay.“We are still in the premier league, the court ruled that the league was not legally run and there is no basis for our relegation. I am preparing the team to play in the premier league and the boys are motivated. I am confident that will do better than we did last season. FKF President Nick Mwendwa announced that he will soon confirm the date that the league starts. Once the date is announced we will know how to program our training sessions but we are putting good work at the training ground,” Bullets coach Juma Abdallah said in an earlier interview.APS Bomet coach Charles Odera pleaded with the relevant bodies not to ‘kill’ his side by denying them a chance to play in the top tier.“It will be a big blow because these players have been preparing to play in the top tier and taking them back to the National Super League will be killing their hopes and it will also affect sponsors and potential sponsors because they can easily throw in the towel and that will mean loss of livelihoods”,” the tactician said.Ex Leopards, Sofapaka duo named in Uganda’s beach soccer AFCON squad
