Henrikh Mkhitaryan struck a 95th minute winner as Inter Milan recovered from twice squandering the lead to beat Fiorentina 4-3. The Nerazzurri are now unbeaten in their last 11 league encounters, with the dramatic decisive goal keeping them in touch with the Serie A leaders. With just one win from nine league games prior to tonight, Fiorentina could ill afford a slow start. As it transpired, that’s exactly what they got, with Nicolò Barella latching onto Lautaro Martínez’s reverse ball and firing Inter ahead inside two minutes. Things went from bad to worse for the hosts, as having been the provider for the opener, Martínez finished with aplomb from the edge of the area to double Inter’s advantage inside 15 minutes and leave Fiorentina with a mountain to climb. That mountain was made slightly smaller when a moment of Federico Dimarco madness saw him fall Giacomo Bonaventura in the area and after a brief VAR check, a penalty was given. Arthur Cabral stepped forward from 12 yards to confidently dispatch the spot kick and halve the deficit at the break. That goal breathed new life into hosts and Fiorentina looked to have rattled the Nerazzurri after halftime. Despite starting the game as a substitute, Jonathan Ikoné was introduced in the first half and he finally had something to show for his endeavours after the break as he twisted and turned in the area, before curling a sumptuous effort in off the underside of the bar.Martínez was at the heart of everything good about Inter, and the diminutive Argentine was key to the Nerazzurri retaking the lead. Edin Džeko slipped him through on goal and despite being wiped out by the on-rushing Pietro Terracciano, he dusted himself off to fire the subsequent spot-kick home to put Inter back into the lead.Yet again though, Simone Inzaghi’s side weren’t able to hold onto the lead, with Luka Jović popping up with a late equaliser. The drama wasn’t over there though, as Mkhitaryan stepped forward to have the final say on proceedings in the 95th minute to snatch all three points for Inter and leave Fiorentina crestfallen despite giving a solid account of themselves.SERIE A – MATCHDAY 11FridayJuventus – Empoli 4-0 (1-0)/Kean 8, McKennie 55, Rabiot 82, 90+4/Saturday Salernitana – Spezia 1-0 (0-0)/Mazzocchi 48/AC Milan – Monza 4-1 (2-0)/Diaz 16, 41, Origi 65, Leao 84 – Ranocchia 70/Fiorentina – Inter 3-4 (1-2)/Cabral 32 pen, Ikone 60, Jovic 90 – Barella 2, Martinez 15, 72 pen, Mkhitaryan 90+5/Sunday 13.30: (2.06) Udinese (3.40) Torino (3.90)16.00: (2.30) Bologna (3.20) Lecce (3.70)19.00: (2.14) Atalanta (3.50) Lazio (3.80)21.45: (3.00) Roma (3.40) Napoli (2.55)Monday 19.30: (2.60) Cremonese (3.25) Sampdoria (3.05)21.45: (2.01) Sassuolo (3.50) Verona (3.90)***odds are subject to change©FlashScore
