AFC Leopards tactician Patrick Aussems opines that his club together with their rivals Gor Mahia FC should be owning facilities such as the Ulinzi Sports Complex, Lang’ata. The Belgian was speaking after Leopards played to a one-all draw with Posta Rangers at the newly-built venue on Saturday morning.”I think that such a complex belongs to a clubs like AFC and Gor Mahia, simple. Thr two are the biggest clubs in the country but they do not have such facilities and train at Camp Toyoyo,” Aussems said.Ingwe were off to a perfect start after just two minutes, with Ojo Olaniyi getting the opener to see his team lead very early in the game. The lead however lasted only 16 minutes as Patrick Otieno struck in the 18th minute to restore parity.Further, the tactician believes that they should strive to train more in a natural grass pitch as they have mostly utilized the artificial turf at Camp Toyoyo yet most of the matches, if not all, will be played in natural grass pitches when the league resumes.”We are preparing but we do not know for what or for when. The plan today was to get a friendly game in a natural grass pitch because that is our biggest challenge as we have trained only once in such a ptch in the last seven or so weeks. We always train in an artificial pitch and as soon as we come to a natural pitch we have some difficulties. I will try and arrange with the management to organize so that we train more in a natural pitch,” Aussems said. The 12-time Kenyan champions had played to yet another draw on Friday against minnows Rainbow FC at Camp Toyoyo.
