Owoko disappointed with league match postponement

Vihiga Bullets FC head coach George Owoko is disappointed by the fact that his team will not be in action this weekend following a court order that resulted in the matches involving them and Mathare United being postponed.Last week, the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) issued orders against Football Kenya Federation (FKF) NEC’s decision to nullify last season’s leagues. The nullification resulted in Bullets and Mathare United retaining their top-flight status while APS Bomet and Fortune Sacco, two sides that earned promotions to the top tier were forced to head back to the second tier. The matter is now before the court for hearing and determination.##NAJAVA_MECA_6828813##FKF then moved to postpone this weekend’s matches involving the two sides. Bullets were set to host Wazito FC in Kakamega while Mathare United were to face Posta Rangers in Thika. Both teams will be hoping to be cleared for week two action. The former Tusker assistant coach regrets that his team will be locked out of action this weekend at a time when the rest will be looking to bag points. He says that he had prepared his charges for the crunch tie against Wazito and hopes that they will be cleared to play as soon as possible.“Of course, we are disappointed because we wanted to play that first game first, a match that I believe we would have picked maximum points from and that would have set the tone for our season. Unfortunately, we will have to wait and I hope that the matter will be resolved as soon as possible so that we can get back to the pitch, the boys are looking forward to the new season,” he said.On his team’s preparations, the tactician says that they are ready for action as he has been working on the few weaknesses that he had spotted in the playing unit.“We are ready. I have been fine-tuning the team in the last few days and I can confidently say that this team is ready for action,” he added.Resilient Mathare turn to seasoned players as league commences
