Bandari FC head coach Anthony Kimani has lauded his team’s fighting spirit after his charges came from behind to beat Sofapaka FC 2-1 in an FKF Premier League (FKF-PL) match staged at the Mbaraki Sports Club on Sunday afternoon. The Mombasa-based Dockers recovered from going down to a Joseph Waithira opening strike to win courtesy of goals from Abdallah Hassan and Felix Olouch who came off the bench to bag a stoppage-time winner.##NAJAVA_MECA_6824901##It is a match that the hosts had to grind a result from before their persistent pressure finally paid off and they are among the few teams that began the new campaign with a win. With winning the title their main target, coach Kimani was relieved to commence their title charge with all three points.Coach Kimani had anticipated a tough match and he says that he had prepared his troops for a difficult outing and is happy that they managed to get the job done.“The game was tough as we had anticipated because Sofapaka is one of the best teams in the country with a very good coach. We had prepared for a difficult game because last season they beat us here at home and we knew that they were going to make it difficult for us but today luck was on our side and God decided that we pick maximum points,” he says.He was full of praise for his players’ character saying conceding an opener did not deter them as they kept pushing until they got the win which he believes was a deserved one.“The players showed good character because even after conceding we kept attacking in search of our goals and in the last minute we got the winning goal which I believe was a deserved goal and we now have maximum points,” he added.Next for Bandari is an away game against Nzoia Sugar FC on Saturday 26th November at the Sudi Stadium in Bungoma.Four things we learnt from pulsating FKF Premier League Week 1
