With Senegal keeper Edouard Mendy off his line, the midfielder kept the ball for too long instead of shooting and Pape Abou Cisse nicked the ball off him before Cheikhou Kouyate cleared the danger.Five minutes later Virgil van Dijk blocked a Sarr shot that looked top left corner bound as the game slowly turned to an end-to-end affair.The first shot on target went Senegal’s way in the 34th minute when right-back, Youssouf Sabaly received a pass at the edge of the area. The keeper pulled another huge save in the 74th minute to deny Gana Gueye who unleashed a shot from the edge of the area.Netherland’s first shot on goal resulted in the opening goal in the 85th minute. De Jong delivered a cross into the area and Gakpo headed past an on-rushing Mendy. A minute later Pape Gueye had a chance t restore parity but he was denied by the ever-present Noppert. Klaasen sealed the win deep into stoppage time firing home after Mendy had saved an initial Memphis Depay shot.Next for Senegal is a match against hosts Qatar on Friday while the Dutch will play Ecuador on the same day.
