Preparations for the 2022/2023 National Super League (NSL) are in top gear ahead of the league kick-off set for the coming weekend.On Monday, the Football Kenya Federation’s competitions department met with officials from clubs taking part in the NSL where they were briefed on preparations for the start of the league.Just like their counterparts in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) last week, NSL match officials kicked off their Physical Endurance Test training on Monday at Kasarani Stadium in readiness for the second tier.Five matches lined up as National Super League gets underwayThe exercise is set to culminate on Thursday, just in time for the league kick off which will see only five matches played on the first match day.Apart from the physical bit of the training, the officials comprising of match commissioners, assessors, and referees will also be taken through football integrity classes by the federation’s Head of Integrity, Projects and National Teams, Mike Kamure.APS Bomet, and Fortune Sacco who had been promoted to the top tier by the FKF Transition Committee before the leagues were nullified by FKF’s NEC have been left out of the week one fixture.##NAJAVA_MECA_6833926##The duo will be hoping that the Sports Disputes Tribunal rules the case in their favour and that they are allowed to grace the top tier that got underway over the weekend.Kajiado FC (formerly Dandora Love), Gusii FC the two sides that got relegated to the third tier before they were saved by the nullification will also sit out of week action awaiting the ruling of the court on the matter.National Super League Week 1-5 fixtures.#NSL pic.twitter.com/1zVctOjfBH— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) November 11, 2022 The postponed matches are Fortune Sacco vs Vihiga United, Gusii vs Kisumu All-Stars, Shabana vs Kajiado, and APS Bomet vs SS Assad.Five matches will be played on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday Darajani Gogo will host MFC FC at the Hope Centre, Kawangware, Naivas will host Mara Sugar at the end Camp Toyoyo Grounds while in Mombasa Coastal Heroes and Mombasa Elite will face off in a Mombasa Derby.On Sunday, Migori Youth will host Murang’a Seal in Migori while Kibera Black Stars will entertain Silibwet at the Camp Toyoyo Grounds.
