Former Ghana defender, Daniel Quaye says his national side has no chance of beating Portugal when the two teams meet in a World Cup Group H match on Friday evening. The Black Stars open their campaign with a match against one of the favorites for the title as they seek to stun the Cristiano Ronaldo-led Selecao in Qatar.Ghana are arguably the underdogs in the group that has Uruguay and South Korea as well and despite the odds being against the 2010 quarterfinalists, they will be hoping for a positive start against the 2016 European champions.##NAJAVA_MECA_6834002##Quaye, who featured in the 2006 World Cup however has a different opinion. He does not believe the current Ghana squad can stun the hugely talented Portuguese side. The two teams met in the 2014 edition where Ronaldo scored an 80th-minute winner in a 2-1 win for the European side in a group stage tie.“It will be difficult for Ghana to beat Portugal, even at the time we had matured and experienced players we couldn’t beat them,” Quaye was quoted on ghanasoccernet.com.“If I were to be a betting company, I would have given Ghana (1,000 odds) and Portugal (500) because we cannot beat them,”.The defender appeared to question the omission of defender Jonathan Mensah from the squad over age issues. He also lauded Portugal’s depth.“Look at the squad depth of Portugal, I know football is full of uncertainties but this time I believe the best team will win. Pepe is playing but in Ghana, we consider Jonathan Mensah and others as old players,” Quaye added.Saudi Arabia’s win over Argentina has however shown that anything is possible at the 2022 Word Cup.Oburu keen on bailing out struggling Zesco after overcoming injury problems
