Nzoia Sugar FC and Bandari FC played out to a barren draw in an FKF Premier League duel staged at the historic Sudi Stadium in Bungoma County on Saturday afternoon.Nzoia had fallen to Gor Mahia 1-0 in their opening match of the season and were seeking redemption at home while the Docker, who defeated Sofapaka a week ago were keen on going top of the log with a win over the Bungoma-based millers.##NAJAVA_MECA_6843403##Both teams made changes in their starting XI. New signing Yasin Sije started up front for Nzoia Sugar in place of Mohammed Barisa who led the line against Gor Mahia. Bandari on the other hand introduced James Kinyanjui, Fidel Origa, and Felix Olouch in place of Chris Ochieng Faraj Ominde and Benjamin Mosha who dropped to the subs bench. An early error of judgment from Nzoia goalkeeper Humphrey Katasi nearly gifted Bandari the opener but he was relieved to see the ball roll out of the field of play. The Dockers had another chance in the 14th minute but a Kinyanjui free-kick somehow went across the goal as all the players failed to connect to the ball. The millers thought that they had gone ahead in the 20th minute when Joseph Mwangi connected to a Moses Mwale freekick, his strike was however ruled out for offside. Next was Sije whose shot narrowly missed Michael Wanyika’s goal. Nzoia had another chance five minutes before the interval but Hassan Beja missed an easy tap-in after Mwangi squared the ball into his path.Mapumziko: Nzoia Sugar 0️⃣ – 0️⃣ Bandari#BandariNiYetu #FKFPL pic.twitter.com/ff3LZMbupv— Bandari Football Club (@BandariOfficial) November 26, 2022 Nzoia continued to win set pieces after the interval but Mwale and Vincent Mahiga’s deliveries were dealt with by the visitors. As the clock ticked, clear-cut chances started to dry up with most of the action taking part in the middle of the park and outside.Nzoia had a stone-wall penalty appeal turned down ten minutes from time when Origaa appeared to foul Mwangi in the area. Referee Felix Ekai who had a good view of the incident thought it was not worthy of a spot-kick and waved play on.In the end, the spoils were shared at Sudi Stadium. Next for Nzoia is a home match against Sofapaka. Bandari on the other hand will host KCB at Mbaraki.Duke’s first half strike constricts Tunisia hopes of advancing to knockout stages
