Nashon Wekesa sacrificed his end of semester examinations at the Zetech University to attend trials at Football Kenya Federation Premier League side KCB back in July.The budding defender had gotten wind of the trials through Zetech team head coach Bernard Kitolo who encouraged him to try his luck with the bankers.Wekesa, a Diploma in Information Technology student who was due to sit for end of semester examinations successfully petitioned the institution’s registrar to allow him skip the tests in order to attend the trials.##NAJAVA_MECA_6853997##It is after receiving the nod from the registrar that Wekesa made way to the Lion’s Den where he met his luck as his skills impressed the Zedekiah Otieno led technical bench and would pen a year-long deal.The player confirmed that he sat for special examinations after excelling in the trials.“I would not have joined KCB had coach Kitolo not encouraged me to attend the trials. I had sacrificed my end of semester exams to try my luck and I am glad the gamble paid off. The good thing is the registrar organized special exams later. Many alented players turned up for the trials and luckily, I was among those who passed. I have also ben working hard during my free time as well as seeking to improve on the weak areas. My wish is to keep on playing and hopefully my talent will be spotted by European based clubs,” he added.
