Abondo urges retired players to mentor next generation of players by taking up coaching

Former Kenyan international Ali Abondo has urged retired players to take up coaching which will help them mentor the next generation of upcoming players in the country.Abondo was speaking in Buruburu at the opening of a CAF D coaching course organized by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Nairobi East Branch where he is one of the 42 students taking the course.CAF D coaching course is ongoing at Citam Buru Buru.Tusker FC captain Humphrey Mieno, Meru Bombers coach, Moses ‘Dube’ Odhiambo, and Ali Hassan Abondo among those undergoing training.#KEFootball pic.twitter.com/XCaWdK1Ya7— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) December 6, 2022 The opening ceremony was presided over by FKF Vice President Doris Petra and graced by FKF CEO Barry Otieno, FKF NEC Members Michael Majua and Anthony Makau, and FKF Chairman Nairobi East Amos Wakili, and Secretary Dickson Doyo.Abondo, who has featured and won the Kenyan Premier League title with record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia, said former players can combine coaching skills with their own experiences to nurture football talent and improve football in the country.##NAJAVA_MECA_6870963##“Former players have the skills and experiences to make a difference to young players. This can be our way of giving back to the community,” he said.FIFA/FKF instructors George Mwangi, and Salim Ali will run the ten-day course.
