Wazito, Mathare, Vihiga back in action as Constitutional Court stays SDT’s ruling

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has obtained temporary orders at the Constitutional Court of Kenya staying the recent Sports Dispute Tribunal (SDT) ruling that reversed the federation’s move to scrap the 2021-22 season for most leagues.The orders clear the way for Wazito FC, Mathare United and Vihiga Bullets, who were affected by the SDT ruling, to begin their 2022-23 season in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League, FKFPL which enters Week 5 this coming weekend.Ohaga goes missing as SDT fails to clarify on promotion and relegation case##NAJAVA_MECA_6890958##According FKF’s Lawyer Ken Ochieng’, they are challenging SDT’s jurisdiction to hear the case that was brought before it by APS Bomet FC and Kona Rangers FC. “Aggrieved parties should agree to approach the SDT for a resolution after exploring other options, this did not happen,” the Zoo FC chairman said.With the stay orders in place, FKF are expected to release new fixtures including the three teams.Wazito FC will play Bidco United on Wednesday next week at their Muhoroni Stadium backyard.Inspectors from the federation are expected in Muhoroni over the weekend to inspect and possibly approve the Muhoroni Stadium ahead of the Wednesday fixture.Wazito FC had quietly moved to the Sports Dispute Tribunal, SDT do demand that they be included in the 2022-23 Football Kenya Federation Premier League FKFPL fixtures from effective round five.
