Homeboyz centre back John Otieno relishing new role in midfield

Kakamega Homeboyz central defender John Otieno insists that he is comfortable in operating in the territory coach John Baraza has been deploying him.Otieno who rejoined Homeboyz in July has been used as a defensive midfielder in the past three league matches with Brian Eshihanda and Robinson Kamura being the preferred pair at the heart of the defence.##NAJAVA_MECA_6886653##The former national U20 team defender said adapting to the new role was easy as he bears ball playing skills and ability to whip both long and short passes, attributes which are rare in defenders.Otieno also revealed that he had previously played as a combative midfielder at Nakuru All Stars and GDC and thus the seamless transition from central defence to the midfield.Wanyama reveling about playing in new position at Gor Mahia“I am comfortable in playing in midfield even though I prefer operating at the heart of the defence. I have played in midfield in my previous work stations and I am currently enjoying it at Homeboyz.
