A brace from Kennedy Owino was enough to hand KCB their third win of the season as the bankers beat Bidco United 2-1 at Thika Stadium on Saturday afternoon.KCB who were coming from a 2-1 loss in the hands of Nzoia Sugar had the winger to thanks as his goals inspired them to their biggest win of the season thus far.The result also meant that KCB who are understood to have set the league title as their irreducible minimum for the season have now kept three cleansheets in five matches. While KCB are glad to have returned to winning ways, BIdco have to worry of their form as the club has lost three matches in a row.Bidco who have themselves to blame for wasting clear cut chances have scored a paltry four goals in five rounds and at the same time conceded five. Brian Ochieng would have given the bankers the lead in the 16th minute from the spot but the defensive midfielder who stepped up to take up responsibility fired wide.KCB had been awarded the penalty in the eleventh minute after Collins Oduor caught Nicholas Kipkirui late in the box. The challenge saw medics from both sides spring into action as both players who were on the floor needed attention. It is after the medics left the field of play that Ochieng who had the ball in his hands all through placed it on the spot ready to break the deadlock. However, the former FC Talanta man had to deal with intimidation from Bidco skipper Peter Nzuki who alongside the club’s custodian Lucas Indeche tried to inject some element of fear to the penalty taker. The unorthodox trick paid up as Ochieng who seemed to have developed cold feet sent the ball way off the target much to the disappointment of his colleagues on the bench who were gearing up for celebrations. The script was almost the same for KCB who found it tough in breaking the rock-solid Bidco wall and hence, had to content with knocking the ball around and trying to catch the hosts unaware through counterattacks. KCB took the lead in the 40th minute through Kennedy Owino whose low drive from the edge of the box slithered its way to the farthest corner catching Indeche who was anticipating for the ball to go off target flat-footed. ##NAJAVA_MECA_6894773##Perhaps with the hopes of salvaging a point if not going for the win, Bidco returned for the final half with vigour and determination to tilt the result in their favour. While the host threw everything towards the KCB area, the latter responded by managing the time with goalkeeper Gabriel Andika getting a couple of warnings for time wasting. Bidco were made to pay for the missed chances as Owino found the back of the net in the 72nd minute to double the advantage for KCB. Owino who was unmarked in the box headed home a freekick delivered by Michael Oduor catching Indeche who had not organized his defence wall again flat-footed. The match seemed destined for a 2-0 scoreline but a late goal by Collins Oduor earned Bidco a consolation.Bidco United Starting XI; Lucas Indeche, Francis Oduor, Lambert Oyuga, David Kalama, Peter Nzuki, Said Tsuma (David Orem 65), Zachary Gathu, Alex Juma (Samuel Ndung’u 65), Henry Juma, Erick Gichimu (Stephen Waruru) , Ezekiel Okare (Benson Iregi 76)Unused substitutes; Edwin Mukolwe, Michael Bodo, Stephen Waruru, Gabriel Wandera, Kassim MwinyiKCB Starting XI; Gabriel Andika, Maurice Ojwang, Harun Mwale, Nashon Alembi, Nashon Wekesa, Michael Mutinda, Brian Ochieng, Nicholas Kipkirui (Enock Agwanda 85), John Mwangi (Michael Oduor 65), Kennedy Owino (Haniff Wesonga 85), Henry Onyango (Samuel Mwangi 90+2)Unused substitutes; Bryne Omondi, Francis Kahiro, Rama Mwenda, Hillary Wandera,Danson Chetambe
