2010 Premier League champions, Ulinzi Stars have received a massive injury boost following the return to fitness of their long-serving custodian James Saruni.The club captain is yet to feature a single minute for the Soldiers this season after suffering a hip injury during pre-season with his return taking longer than initially anticipated.

Back in late November the club announced that Saruni had suffered a soft tissue injury on his hip and was scheduled to return after two weeks which has now become three.##NAJAVA_MECA_6900602##“Our Skipper James Saruni is recovering from a right hip soft tissue injury and is expected to be available in two weeks’ time. Stephen Etyang sustained a right ankle sprain in one of the training sessions. He is in rehab for three weeks,” read a statement from the club back in November.Saruni was deputized by Stephen Ochieng who joined the four-time Kenyan champions last season as the reserve goalkeeper Sylvaine Omondi was called to the bench.Saruni expected back in two weeks as Etyang suffers set-backThe Kenyan international will be available for selection in their next game against FC Talanta slated for Wednesday 21 December at the Kasarani Annex.In his absence, Ulinzi have only kept two clean sheets against AFC Leopards and Posta Rangers but Saruni’s return is expected to fortify their defense.
