Guess what – Barca are in financial trouble again!

Months have passed, but one topic remains the same – Barcelona finances. All reports concerning the Catalans and their finnancial plight look alike, the difference is only how much money they owe. President Joan Laporta tries to find ways to generate more money, not only to balance the books, but also to allow his coach Xavi to do business in the transfer market and strengthen the squad in order to gain even more success (and trophies) in order to generate even more cash. So far, they are not succeeding in this endless chace for more money, and it was revealed today that they can only sing players if they commit to 1:3 formula.Images: The Camp Nou third stand. pic.twitter.com/sNCObZXX23— Barça Universal (@BarcaUniversal) December 22, 2022 As per Mundo Deportivo, the club is now in 30 million debt and according to La Liga rules, they must use this formula for possible transfers, which basically means that for every million spent, they have to sell somebody for three million. And how this 30 million hole came about? Well, mosty due to the fact that they budgeted for a deep run in the Champions League, and in reality, Xavi and his boys never made it furhter than the group stage, losing lots of money in the procces. Barcelona spent over 153 million euros on rebuilding Xavi’s team in the summer and Barcelona would earn around 10 million euros if they reach the last 16 and a further 11 million euros if they get to the quarter-finals. But they didn’t.How Barca could profit from Morocco’s World Cup exploits: Abde is now worth ten times more than last yearSo now, they need to find 30 million. They completed a sponsorship deal with Ukrainian cryptocurrency company WhiteBit who will pay 10+2 million euros each year to the club, but La Liga accounted only five million, so from 35, they are now at the 30 million figure. They have saved some money from Gerrard Pique’s retirement, as he was a big earner and he also forgave all the debts towards him, and they still have to find a sleeve sponsor, which will ease the burdain. Also, the operation ‘Sell Memphis Depay’ is well under way, but it won’t be easy. He will be a free agent in June and wants to remain with the club so he could be a free agent, while Barcelona needs to earn at least a few million on him (and his wages), which he refueses to do at the moment.A bargain in sight: Buy Memphis for only 5 millionAnd in the middle of all this, Nou Camp has gone into a renovation which will see Barcelona temporarily moving to the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, located about 4 km to the south-east, during the 2023/24 season. According to RAC1, Barcelona are planning to further commercialise the stadium and are currently in talks with NFL to host American football matches at the venue. Once the Espai Barca construction works are completed, the Blaugrana intend for Camp Nou to host the said NFL matches, which in turn, could greatly increase the overall revenue of the stadium.##NAJAVA_MECA_6899954##
