Much has been said about the rivalry between Jack Grealish and Miguel Almiron – but the reality is that there is no rivalry. Despite being mentioned mockingly by the England international, Almiron says he has absolutely no problem with the former Aston Villa winger.Grealish was filmed drunkenly claiming his team-mate Riyad Mahrez was ‘playing like Almiron’ before he was substituted against Aston Villa on the final day of last season, with the intention behind it to insult the Algerian international. Almiron’s ‘curse’ hovers upon Jake GrealishNewcastle’s Paraguayan international wasn’t bothered one bit as he proceeded to score seven goals in the next eight games. He has previously struggled in the Premier League, but he has been one of the division’s standout players this season. Everyone thought that Grealish’s comment put a fire in his belly, but that wasn’t the case.”I’m not interested in that. Jack’s a great player, and I will always wish him all the best. He’s at Manchester City for a good reason. I just avoid making any comparisons. It’s about me focusing on what I do. It’s no big deal. I didn’t pay a lot of attention to the video anyway. I was on holiday with my family, and I didn’t have a mobile phone signal! So no, I didn’t watch the video. I wasn’t bothered.”Jack Grealish says he ‘regrets’ making comments about Miguel Almiron…pic.twitter.com/noPFRK9y73— Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) December 2, 2022 When Grealish read those Almiron’s words, he started to admire the 28-year-old star because of his cool head and how he played down the whole situation.”When I said earlier that sometimes I do stupid stuff, that was one. I regret that. I swear, I’m actually delighted by the way Miguel reacted. He said something about me in the interview the other day. He wished me the best. I thought, ‘what a guy, man’ because if that was me and somebody had said that about me, I’d have probably been the other way and been like ‘fu*k it’.”##NAJAVA_MECA_6899954##The two men are both cool, as Almiron reacted positively to Grealish’s words.”I heard that he spoke positively about me. I’ve never had anything against Jack and have maintained all along that I think he’s a great player and a good guy. There’s never been any issue for me. It was a nice interview and the fact he spoke the way he did, that reinforces the type of person he is.”This indeed ends any talk of the two players harbouring any bad feelings. Miguel says there won’t be any problem when they meet face to face.”I would shake his hand, no problem.”
