Emuhaya MP Omboko Milemba has once again spoken of his desire to take over the leadership of FKF Premier League side, AFC Leopards. In 2019, the legislator declared his interest in vying for the seat while promising to bring back the glory days to the Den, he opined that the club risked collapsing if proper structures were not put into place to revive it. He later pulled out of the race; which Dan Shikanda won after being reelected in 2022.##NAJAVA_MECA_6900541##“The club needs proper structures and good leadership to revive itself. Leopards are losing their greatness and can even collapse. That would be very wrong for our age group and we shall be held accountable. I want to see AFC Leopards back on their feet and I hope to raise funds and sacrifice my own resources to ensure this happens if elected,” Milemba said back then. The AFC Leopards’ Kawangware branch chairman has once again expressed his interest in leading the team that last won a league title in 1998. Although he did not give a specific time that he will be seeking the chairmanship, the former footballer said it is something that he is looking forward to in the future. Ingwe will hold elections again in June 2025.“I am currently the chairman of AFC Leopards Kawangware branch but I am looking forward, in the future possibly to taking over the club but that is my future plan,” he told NTV.He also weighed in on the FIFA ban that was recently lifted after eight months. He disclosed that he advised the new CS Ababu Namwamba to work towards having Kenya unsuspended after taking over. He says the country lost a lot during that period.“We lost it and I have been working hard talking with people in sports to have normalcy resume. I told CS Ababu Namwamba to let the federation come out of suspension which he has already done and now it is a matter of bailing out the teams,” he added.Aussems: AFC Leopards’ season starts afresh in January
