Owoko labels Vihiga Bullets loss to Posta Rangers as ‘Not a bad defeat’

Vihiga Bullets FC head coach George Owoko was left satisfied by his team’s performance despite going 2-1 down to Posta Rangers at the Thika Sub County Grounds on Wednesday afternoon in what was their first match of the season. After protracted court cases, Bullets, who had been relegated from the league last season were saved by FKF’s NEC decision to nullify the 2021/22 leagues that were run by the FKF Transition Committee. The matter is still in court but FKF obtained stay orders that allowed them to continue with the leagues.##NAJAVA_MECA_6899954##On Wednesday, Owoko was at the touchline for his first game as an FKF Premier League coach. The match ended in a 2-1 defeat courtesy of a Brian Marita brace. Vincent Ogola scored the consolation goal for Bullets.Despite going down, Owoko picked a lot of positives in the game and believes that his side was the better side in Thika. He also rued chances that his team did not take.“I have no complaints whatsoever, we played very well and I think that we were the better team on that pitch yesterday. Our buildup and attack were good, we stuck to our style of play something that we have been working on during pre-season and I think we were just unlucky to lose because we had the chances to at least get a point from that game,” he told Mozzart Sport.FT AFC Leopards 0-0 Kakamega HomeboyzPosta Rangers 2-1 Vihiga BulletsNairobi City Stars 1-1 Kariobangi SharksWazito 0-0 Bidco UnitedSofapaka 1-1 Police FC#FKFPL#RadullLive pic.twitter.com/YLTfmAhBnD— @RadullLive (@radulllive) December 21, 2022 He added that his team was punished by defensive mistakes that they made against the mail-men something that he hopes does not recur in the coming matches.“I do not think Posta created much in that game, we were punished for our own defensive mistakes. In one of the goals, for example, my defender controlled the ball inside the box without being aware of the situation around him, and from that, a Posta attacker pocked the ball home. That, for example, is a mistake that we should have avoided, but we learn from each game and I hope that we will not repeat the same mistakes against Tusker,” he said.Bullets will once again play away on 4th January, this time against Tusker FC at the Ruaraka Grounds. We want to end the year on a high – Matasi
