Chelsea invested a lot of money in rehauling their squad, but the spending isn’t going to end soon. The latest player to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is Monaco’s young centre-back Benoit Badiashile. While currently there is no agreement between the Premier League side and their Ligue 1 counterparts, multiple sources believe he will join in the weeks ahead for around $37 million.##EDITORS_CHOICE##The 21-year-old joined the Monegasques youth ranks in 2016 and has risen through the academy system to become one of the most highly-rated young defenders in Europe. Badiashile has already made 135 appearances for Monaco in all competitions, scoring six goals and providing three assists from the heart of defence since becoming a regular in the 2018/19 campaign.Badiashile is not the only target the Stamford Bridge club have looked at. Josko Gvardiol of RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Evan N’Dika and Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie were all reportedly scouted. The Blues previously attempted to bring in Josko Gvardiol over in the last transfer window after reaching a personal agreement with the Croatia star, but could not agree on a transfer fee with Leipzig.
